Obituary

Beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on September 3rd, 2021, at age 75, in St. Louis MO with loved ones by her side. Born on March 24, 1946, in Hudson, Michigan, to John and Viola (Crane) Musson, she later graduated as salutatorian of her class at Hudson High School (1964). Diane attended Michigan State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts- Elementary Education (1968) and Master's Degree in Social Work (1970).
Diane married Scott Jackson on August 26th, 1967, and they settled in Flint, Michigan, where she began her lifelong career in social work. She dedicated herself to the service of others by working in schools, providing education and counseling services, working with foster families, and serving the Villages of Indiana for over 18 years, retiring in 2008.
Diane and Scott were Zionsville residents for over 40 years and loved their community. Diane enjoyed volunteering at the SullivanMunce Cultural Center, and was an active member of the Zionsville Women's Club. Diane was passionate about genealogy research and was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a warrior for Pink Ribbon Girls St. Louis, selflessly helping others as she courageously battled cancer herself. She loved playing bridge with her friends, golfing and spending time with her grandchildren. Diane was a gifted artist, author, and photographer.
Diane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Scott, her parents John and Viola Musson and her sister Linda Musson. Diane loved her family dearly and will be deeply missed by her daughters Julie Dorn (Matt) and Linda Hunter (Jesse), and 6 grandchildren Ava, Liam, and Adeline Dorn and Riley, Kate, and Jackson Hunter.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 9th at Simplicity Funeral Home, Zionsville, Indiana, with visitation at 2:00pm and the service at 3:00pm. Interment will take place on Sunday, November 14th at 12:00pm at Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson, MI. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pink Ribbon Girls St. Louis (www.pinkribbongirls.org) or SullivanMunce Cultural Center, Zionsville IN (www.sullivanmunce.org).
